Global Peace and Security

Global Peace and Security (GPS) is a policy forum designed to encourage debate, research, and analysis on public policy issues related to peace and security. Peace and security are one of the three pillars on which the United Nations was founded and included in the Preamble of the UN Charter.

GPS is currently based at The Thomas J. Watson Jr. School of International and Public Affairs at Brown University. The mission of the Watson School prioritizes “promoting a just, peaceful and prosperous world through research and teaching on the world’s most pressing economic, political and social policy challenges.”

GPS showcases the work of students and alums of the MPA program at the Watson School. The program is comprised of students from around the world, doing work on issues related to peace and security across the globe.

Submissions

Submit to GPS

We welcome two types of submissions from MPA students and alums: policy briefs and interviews. The briefs and interviews must comply with the structure and style of the GPS Briefs Series. Interviews should prioritize scholars, fellows, and guests of the university. Please see examples of both posted online for details.

If you are interested in submitting a brief or an interview, please email Professor Dawn Brancati (dawn_brancati [at] brown.edu) before putting pen to paper (or perhaps, better said for the digital age, putting finger to keyboard).
